Backstreet Recommends! (B)

Sure we recommend stuff all the time.  In fact, having a store is a bit like an extended recommendation of good music you should all try out.  But here are a few more specific examples, CD titles, some you should be aware of, some you might not be, but all endorsed as good spins in the ol' laser thingy.  You can find the A-Z of this instore in a cleverly named "Backstreet Recommends" section, all priced between $5.99  and $7.96.

Autumn Moods

You may have noticed the seasons shifting over to the colourful and cooler variety of late.  Figured it was time for a couple of suggestions for albums to match the moods of autumn.  These two instrumental offerings come at things from different directions.

First up Daughters of the Sun, a Minnesota outfit, explore a stoner vibe with a decidedly synth based approach.  Their new album Ride to Die is a gem released by Not Not Fun records.

On the chiller side of the coin why not try Inventions?  A duo featuring Matthew Cooper of Eluvium and Mark T. Smith of Explosions in the Sky, their self-titled debut on Temporary Residence brings together the strengths of both those groups and expands things into a few new directions.

We have both albums on vinyl and CD on the Inventions release.
